Nuluti Equani Ehi means Near (the) River Dwellers in Cherokee. Our tribal
heritage goes back to the Cherokee living along the New River, Yadkin River,
Dan River, and the Catawba rivers in North Carolina during the pre-colonial
and colonial periods. A number of our founding Leaders are descendants of
the Chief Donnaha. Who was the War Chief over seven Cherokee Clans living
along the Yadkin River running through present day area of Forsyth, Davie,
Yadkin, Stokes and Surry Counties of NC. NEETribe was formed to pay
honor and respect to our Native American forefathers. We honor and
praise our heritage by providing Educational, Charitable, and Religious
services to our Native American people and community. These services
are provided through Tribal Societies which manage individual programs.
NEETribe is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, a Native American Indian Tribe. All contributions to NEETribe, Inc. are tax-deductible. NEETribe has applied to the NC Commission of Indian Affairs for recognition. Not all tribes wish to be recognized or apply to be formally recognized by the State, however, the Incorporators felt that this recognition is most important and that their requirements have been met by NEETribe, Inc. State recognition in North Carolina does not occur quickly but when recognized will be an asset to the tribe and its members, recognition by our peers, as being a worthy and honorable tribe, true to our heritage. We are a Cherokee tribe. Citizenship is open to all of Native American who wish to celebrate and honor their NA heritage. Citizens are expected to work in the Societies and financially pledge to support the tribe. The Societies can function only by members volunteering their time and resources. This is a family oriented Tribe, we welcome petitioners, their legal spouses and children to membership. Individual petitioners of any Native American descent need to present documentation showing their NA heritage through genealogy to a specific Native American. BIA / CBID carded Native Americans are also welcome to participate with us as using their BIA / CDIB card numbers. Genealogy to prove your heritage is your responsibility.
